December 2009

It’s taken a year, but at last a first prize: this was from the “Speakeasy” Poetry competition of Milton Keynes writers, and arrived out of the blue in the post this morning, for my poem “The Cake Plate” (which I wrote over three years ago, but which has been gradually refined over the months). It will appear on their website in time.

Heard today I’ve another “highly commended”, this time for “See Kim Run” in the Newark Poetry competition: one of 12 commended.  Prize readings at Farndon on 23rd January.
