David Harmer, children’s writer and poet, and MA Writing tutor.

Deconstructive Wasteland, Local Poet Ben Wilkinson’s blog. Amusing and clued up on the poetry scene, despite rather overblown title. Some very original poems. His first pamphlet The Sparks has a really original voice.

Grace Dieu Writers: Writers’ group who commended “The Cake Plate”:

Jacqui Bennett Writers Bureau: a third prize for a comic poem here:

The Poetry Business Excellent workshops and poetry mag The North. Run by the poets Ann and Peter Sansom, who really know their stuff.

Ladder Writers  A rather unique concept, as far as I know, of writing competitions and community based on a points system for contributions. I joiedn up to see what it leads to. Although it’s only just getting off the ground, you might give it a try if you’re into writing competitions with a slightly different flavour.

Liz Cashdan: a local poet, with a range of styles and approaches to work, who also teaches writing and offers workshops:

Millenium Galleries, Sheffield: Fine museums and galleries with some great exhibitions: I gave a reading here

City of Derby Poetry competition (I won 3rd prize)

National Galleries of ScotlandCompetition: I won Special Merit

Now Then: Sheffield Free magazine, I’ve published poems and reviews in.

River Wolton’s “The Purpose of Your Visit”: Very good collection. River Wolton is also Derbyshire Poet Laureate.
